Smileys Nursery Stafford

Smileys Nursery is situated in the grounds of the County Hospital, Stafford.  We are very close to the MOD housing and have many forces families currently using our nursery.

We provide full day care for children aged from birth to five years.  We are open 52 weeks per year from 6.45am-6pm.  Our staff are qualified and experienced and offer quality childcare and education in a welcoming fun environment.

We can offer flexible sessions from 4 hours per week right up to full time places.

Children can attend in term time only to access the free 15 hours per week places offered in the term after their 3rd birthday.  We can offer these places over 5 mornings or afternoons or if it is more suitable for working families this funding can be taken off full days e.g. two free 7 1/2 hour days in term time.

We offer a school holiday club for children aged 4-11 years where the children engage in lots of exciting trips/activities e.g. cinema, treasure hunts, bowling, zoo trips, local parks, arts and crafts, dance session magicians, animal man baking etc.

We offer before and after school clubs for children attending St. Johns School, Weston Road (next door to our nursery).  We have one club on the school site and one here at nursery.  Children are escorted to and from school by staff.  These clubs can be booked on a flexible basis.

SMILEYS NURSERY AT ST. JOHNS SCHOOL

We have a pre-school nursery in the grounds of St Johns School which is intended for children who are wishing to move on to St Johns and are in their last year of nursery before starting school.  This nursery operates from 8.50-11.50am every morning in term time.  Children needing longer hours either before or after these times can be escorted by our staff and continue their day at the main nursery.

We work in strong partnership with school and the children get lots of opportunities to become familiar with the school premises and staff e.g. outdoor play with reception class, teachers coming over to read stories, going into school concerts, joining in special events, using the hall etc.  This really helps their transition into school as they already feel comfortable in the environment.  We work closely with teachers to ensure that we prepare our children in the best way possible for school.

Parents are highly valued in our nurseries and contributions of suggestions, helping with activities, coming in to share a special skill, interest etc. are really welcomed and appreciated.
